First, "ONCE", a movie about an Irish street singer and a Czech piano player. That's probably not the best description, but the movie is amazing. The music, mostly performed by the lead actors, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. The musicians-turned-one-time-actors really held their own acting and singing. The movie far exceeded my expectations and managed to be a fantastic musical, despite being shot for only $160,000. You should all see this movie, which will prompt you to buy this soundtrack.
Secondly, "Across the Universe", is also phenomenal. The psychadelic movie featured about 30 songs by the Beatles redone by the cast members. The movie also featured character names based off of the band's songs, like Jude, Lucy, and Prudence. Set in the 60s, the movie revolves around the Vietnam war and its effect on Lucy and Jude. Definitely need to see this one too!
I'm probably bad at describing these movies, but that shouldn't detract from your wanting to see these amazing movies!

The Grammy's
This year's Grammy's, as is with almost all awards shows recently, was a bore. Aside from performances from Amy Winehouse, Rihanna, and Kanye West, the night knid of dragged. There were way too many retrospective performances.
Luckily Amy won five awards: (Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Pop Album, and Female Pop Vocals). This was amazing, but Herbie Hancock for Album of the Year. Amy was definitely robbed. Besides that, Mark Ronson won Producer of the year, Non-Classical. Justin won two awards, as did Alicia. Kanye won 3 and Jim Dale won Spoken Word for Children for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".
Overall, the night was a little disappointing.
Do better next time, Grammy's (i.e. BETTER PERFORMANCES & BETTER AWARD-GIVING!!)
