New M.I.A.!!

I just heard this song ("Paper Planes") a couple days ago and I just looked up the video. Both the song and video are pretty epic. Here it is.

What do you think??

Someone Please Talk to Stargate

So, yet another Stargate slowjam with the same melody and beat has been released: "Go On Girl" by Ne-Yo. I mean come on, it sounds exactly like "Irreplaceable" by Beyonce and "With You" by Chris Brown, along with many others. They seriously need to come up with a new formula. It's getting rediculous and redundant.

Thanks

PS. Here is the video for Ne-Yo's new song (it's OK)

A Shorter Post About SAG

The Screen Actor's Guild Awards nominations were announced, and unlike the Golden Globes, they will not be picketed by the Writer's Guild. Basically, for the movie noms, I haven't seen a lot of them, so I'm not really pulling for anyone with a few exceptions. ELLEN PAGE ("Juno") FOR LEADING ACTRESS!!! Now that I got that out of the way, I also think "Hairspray" should win for cast ensemble in a movie.

Television: Again, I'm a little sad that none of the "Heroes" actors got any. Same with "Pushing Daisies", "24", and "Desperate Housewives". I'm def rooting for Ricky Gervais ("Extras") for leading male in a comedy (PS. why hasn't Ashley Jensen been getting any nominations for "Extras"??). Female in a comedy is again difficult. I think I can say that I'd be fine if either America Ferrera or Christina Applegate lost, but I can't decide between Mary-Louise Parker ("Weeds") and Vanessa Williams ("Ugly Betty"). I probably want Parker to win a little more, but they both def deserve to win. "Grey's Anatomy"'s only nomination is for Drama series ensemble (I hope they win). Comedy ensemble pits "Desperate Housewives" and "Ugly Betty" against eachother, and I think the latter deserves it a little more (sorry Eva).

Finally, for stunt ensemble for a movie, it's either "300", "Bourne Ultimatum", or "Pirates 3". I definitely have soft spot for "Bourne" though. And lastly, stunt ensemble for a TV show, "24" or "Heroes" ("HEROES"!!!!).

It wasn't that short, was it?

A Little Late, but My Reactions to the Golden Globes

So two of my favorite movies this year have been nominated for comedy movie of the year: "Hairspray" and "Juno". Both movies were amazing, so I don't know which I want to win more (Juno probably). But then also "Sweeney Todd" was also nominated, and I cannot wait to see that! In best comedy actress, I also can't decide between Nikki Blonsky, Ellen Page, and Helena Bonham Carter (who I'm sure will be absolutely amazing). I would say that Page definitely has a great shot due to the buzz surrounding that movie (AMAZING MOVIE, by the way). For best actor in a comedy movie, obviously Johnny Depp. For supporting actor in a movie, my choice would be John Travolta just because that was the one movie I saw, but I have to say I didn't think he was that good in "Hairspray". Director and Screenplay are not contest: Tim Burton (Sweeney Todd) and Diablo Cody (Juno), respectively. Of course I do have my faves that are missing. Understandibly, "Superbad" was left out, but that has to be one of the best comedies of the year. Also, I have to say that Imelda Staunton in "Order of the Phoenix" should have gotten some recognition. And how bout Matt Damon or "Bourne Ultimatum"?? and where was "High School Musical 2"?? (joke, btdubs)

Now onto my favorite activity, TV!! Drama, clearly "Grey's Anatomy", but where's "Heroes"? For actress in a drama, I always have a softspot for Patricia Arquette in "Medium". Best comedy is pretty difficult. For me it's between my new fav "Extras" and "Pushing Daisies". Both are grrreat shows, but I think I'm rooting for the latter a little more. Actress in a comedy is even harder: I'm rooting for 4 out of 5!!: Christina Applegate ("Samantha Who?"), America Ferrera ("Ugly Betty"), Anna Friel ("Pushing Daisies"), and Mary-Louise Parker ("Weeds"). With careful consideration ( I don't know what I'm on), I really really want Mary-Louise Parker to win. "Weeds" is more that amazing and she soooo deserves to win. For comedy actor, it's def between Ricky Gervais ("Extras") and Lee Pace ("Pushing Daisies"). I'm probably gonna have to go with Lee Pace and "Pushing Daisies" again this time. For best supporting actress in TV, Katherine Heigl for "Grey's", clearly. And finally, Donald Sutherland ("Dirty Sexy Money") for best supporting actor. PS. again, where was HEROES, 24, Desperate Housewives, and a best comedy for Ugly Betty???

Woah, that was a lot to fit into one breath. Jk, I know I'm not funny.

Hope you enjoyed,

So, it's now official: after much speculation and rumors, Jadakiss has officially signed to Roc-a-Fella/Ruff Ryders for his third solo effort. This upcoming album is following his platinum 2004 album, Kiss of Death. Jay-Z is certainly trying to rebuild Roc-a-Fella. Can't wait for the new Jada album. Click Here for for the rest!!

Billboard Album Chart

Good news for some means bad news for others as usual. Kid Rock scores his first number one record as "Rock N Roll Jesus" debuts on top of the chart. Bruce Springstein latest album, "Magic", slips from number one to two this week. Unfortunately, Jennifer Lopez's new CD, "Brave", didn't even debut in the top ten this week (it debuted at number 12 with 53,000 copies), the first of her seven studio albums not to do so. Even her Spanish-language CD, "Como Ama Una Mujer", managed to debut at number 10. Two other CDs are still in the top ten after over a month each, "High School Musical 2" soundtrack just climbed from number 10 to 9, and Kanye West's "Graduation" just climbed back up from 7 to 6.

Let's hope "Do It Well" or its follow-up single catches on soon.

Spice Girls' Greatest Hits CD

So the Spice Girls' Greatest Hits CD is approaching quickly (it's coming out NOVEMBER 13!!!!), but you won't be able to buy it in Best Buy. Besides in digital music stores, the only other place you'll be able to get it (the only way to get the physical copy) is at Victoria's Secret. An interesting choice. In tour news, their 16 London dates have all sold out, as have the currently scheduled US and Canada dates, but they are trying to schedule more. Click Here for for the rest!!

My new discovery: Jay Sean

I just found this video for "Ride It" on youtube and decided to find the song. This is the first single from British Jay Sean's second album, "My Own Way" which will be released soon in the UK. It's kind of a mixture of R&B and Hip-Hop, and it's pretty good.
